Easily Respond or Prepare For A Critical Incident

The Importance of Proper Response

Consequences of Critical Incidents

Acute stress is the most common immediate reaction following exposure to a critical incident. Acute stress that is not dealt with can exacerbate problems in an individual’s life and begin to interfere with behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual domains of a person’s life.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Consultation Package includes an in-depth assessment and report or your organization’s ability to respond with a tailored plan to support you in being prepared to respond to a critical incident. This service is offered at a rate of $250 per hour.

The Support Package allows us to assist and guide you through your response to a specific event after it has occurred and its scope is determined by the impact of the critical incident. Some incidents require small group debriefing while others require more response. All will result in an increased utilization of our 24/7 live text support. The cost of package 2 ranges from $5,000-25,000, with a minimum of $5,000. Our professional services will be billed at $250 per hour.

The type of impact that occurs following the event and the number of individuals impacted will determine the cost of this package. Travel expenses will be billed at cost if on-site support is required and requested.

There is a lot of fluidity when it comes to how much of a response is needed. This is largely determined by the type of event and exposure level to an event. Typically, we will have a completed assessment and report outlining the response within 24 hours.

Most responses are done in phases which include immediate demobilizing and debriefing services for those who had direct exposure to the event. Following a large group debrief for individuals impacted without direct exposure, we offer 30-days of access to our support platform to ensure that individuals struggling with the aftermath of a critical incident get the support they need, 24/7.

HR can expect general information and suggestions as to how they can continue to assist their personnel with navigating their responses to critical events. There will be no reports given to HR and there will be no notes or recordings. All services are strictly confidential.

Employees can expect a multi-tactic response including informational and support groups, handouts on signs of distress and coping strategies, 1:1 support via live text, access to a referral system and follow-up support.

Critical Incident Support is not:

  • Psychotherapy
  • A substitute for therapy
  • Professional counseling
  • Treatment for mental or physical diagnoses
  • Crisis intervention or services

Defusing Group: A group meeting consisting of 10 to 100+ individuals that is used to provide facts about the situation, discuss and normalize common stress reactions and provide information and additional resources that could be helpful. This can take place before, during or after a critical incident.

Debriefing Group: This occurs with smaller groups of individuals and should only have people that were involved in the critical incident. The goal of this group is to process the effects of the event on the group, continue to explore & normalize stress reactions and explore coping skills. This should occur within 24-72 hours of the incident.

1:1 Support/Intervention: Available after both groups or as needed for anyone who identifies or is identified as needing additional support. During this time emotional support is offered as well as additional exploration of stress reactions and coping skills. Referrals for additional support are explored as needed as this service is offered only once.

Referral & Follow-Up Support: Additional check-ins and support is offered as needed; this can include assistance with referral support.
